Virtual participation in the 2023 Shanghai Ukulele Festival

As last year David Chen contacted me again this year and invited the Hungaria ukulele community to take part virtually in the 2023 Shanghai Ukulele Festival. Of course anyone can attend in person as well, but most of us are more likely to send a greeting video. If you do not know David: he is one of those ukulele players who travel the world spreading the message that making music is good and playing the ukulele is good , and he is an internationally recognized ukulele musician. In 2017 he also held a great workshop.

here in Hungary. Last year's Taiwan festival was held entirely online. As you may have gathered from the above, this year's Shanghai festival will follow current working trends and be “hybrid”: alongside in-person participation, many people will submit videos—hopefully including us Hungarians—which will be played continuously for participants during the festival.

I would be very happy if we made videos again this year. Let us show them what Hungaria ukulele playing sounds like !

The rules are as follows:

• The video may be no longer than 5 minutes.
• The video must be newly recorded. At the beginning you should introduce yourself very, very briefly in English or Chinese (and it is important to say in the introduction that you are sending the video from Hungary).
• Videos must be submitted by 2 June! (Unfortunately the deadline is quite short...)
• Upload the video to YouTube using the following title format: [2023 Shanghai Ukulele Festival] - YOUR NAME from Hungary - SONG TITLE.

Once your video is ready, send me the YouTube link and I will forward it to David Chen. If you do not have a YouTube account, you can also send me the video in another way (Gmail large attachment, WeTransfer, Mammutmail, etc.).
