Ukulele workshop with David Chen
We warmly invite everyone to join us at 5:30 p.m. on 25 July 2018 at Valyo Kikötő, near the Pest end of Rákóczi Bridge, where internationally recognised Taiwanese ukulele artist and teacher David Chen will hold a workshop. We will finish with a short concert and some group playing. The event is being organised together with Valyo Kikötő and the Ethnosound world music instrument store & club.
A few words about David: he is from Taiwan and originally graduated and worked as a software engineer, although he also had formal musical training. In the end he chose music – and what a good decision that was! He travels around the world spreading the message about the importance of learning and making music, as well as about the ukulele, and this year he will visit Hungary for the first time. Thanks to Zsolt, David has also given us an interview, which you will soon be able to read here on ukulele.hu before the workshop.
The most important details are shown in the image, but we would particularly like to emphasise that please be sure to send us an email as well if you would like to attend the event.
. As mentioned above, the event will end with group playing, so if you can, please prepare the following songs – these were suggested by David:
Hey Jude (we will play it in C major; look at the lower “in C” section!)
Hotel California(we will play it in A minor; look at the lower “in Am” section!)
You are welcome to know them by heart, of course, but naturally you can also use a paper, phone, tablet or anything else as a cheat sheet.
Everyone is very welcome!
