Dear Ukulele Players!

I am delighted to announce the first ukulele meetup of the year . Exactly one year ago today we held the 2020 ukulele meetup at Fonó. I warmly recommend the report I wrote about it . I very much hope the pandemic will not interfere and that as many of us as possible can get together again this year for some strumming.

Venue: Single Parent Centre(1085 Budapest, Üllői út 30.). Getting there: M3 metro to Corvin-negyed, trams 4 and 6, and free parking in the surrounding streets.
Date and time: Saturday, 11 September 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (arrival, tuning and conversation from 3:30 p.m.). I would be very happy if as many people as possible were there from the start, but you can also join later.

Complete beginners are very welcome at the meetup too, including people who have never even held a ukulele but like the instrument and would like to get to know it. I can provide a limited number of ukuleles for the duration of the meetup. Family members and friends are also welcome if they would prefer simply to sit in the audience. We will have plenty of room at this very unusual and atmospheric venue.

The aim of the meetup is for everyone to leave with a musical experience. I would like us to play several songs together in a way that is interesting for beginners too (I am preparing some really good songs ). As always, I am asking the more advanced players for enthusiastic participation and help, while the more adventurous participants can expect a little extra activity, just as at previous meetups.

I am preparing a few surprises as well, which of course I am not going to reveal yet .

You can also indicate that you are interested through this Facebook event , but everyone who would like to attend must also register by clicking the button below Please come ONLY if you are completely healthy.

If any of you — or anyone you know — is a professional photographer and would be willing to help document the event, I would be delighted. Please email me.

Finally, a few more important details:

Something

At his concerts over the past decade, Paul McCartney has always performed Something with just a ukulele - or at least he begins it that way. It is his tribute to the memory of the song's writer and his fel…
