Relative Tuning

It is best to tune a ukulele with an electronic tuner or a tuning app on your phone, but sometimes neither is available and we still want to get reasonably in-tune chords from the instrument. One solution is what I call "relative tuning" - I could not think of a better term - where we compare the pitch of the strings with one another and adjust their tension, and therefore their pitch, accordingly:
