Caro Emerald – Back It Up

Earlier this year I already sang Caro Emerald's praises, and her work is difficult to praise highly enough. In this new “play-the-chords-along-with-me” video, I would like to show you the accompaniment to one of Caro Emerald's first hits, Back It Up:

Believe it or not, this song consists of only TWO chords. It shows how much imagination, melody and arrangement matter. Who would imagine that alternating just two chords could produce such a good song? So if you want to drill D minor and G minor into your fingers, this is an easy opportunity:

There is only one thing to watch: the two chords do not alternate perfectly every single time; occasionally one of them lasts a little longer . Listen carefully and play the song as many times as possible. That way you can memorise every necessary turn, and naturally the lyrics and chords available for download here will help as well. Have fun practising!
