Caro Emerald – Tangled Up
This woman makes such good music that I could not resist making another play-along chord video. Just as a reminder: click here to read my report from the Caro Emerald concert, while the previous play-along video, made for Back It Up, is available here. This time I would like to show you the accompaniment to Tangled Up:

This song is a fantastic tango, and believe it or not, the verses and chorus alternate between only three chords. One or two new chords creep into the bridge, but we do not have to do much with them beyond simply strumming them. Through most of the song, however, we can practise extremely tight, accurate rhythm and chord muting – either with the little finger or with the palm – while alternating these three chords:

The song is also a good choice for complete beginners – or perhaps players who have already practised for a few months – because it contains one extremely easy chord, A minor; one requiring a little more attention, D minor; and one classic “I don't like this chord” shape, E major.
Click here to find the lyrics and chords. In the video I show one simple example of an accompaniment. Naturally, you can also roll through the chords with multi-finger picking; you do not have to keep rattling away with muted chords throughout. Everyone can alternate and modify the technique according to taste.
