The tenor ukulele, baritone ukulele and guitar
The relationship between the ukulele and the guitar is a frequently recurring question, and the baritone ukulele naturally has a special role as a kind of “bridge” between them. I decided to make a video featuring all three instruments and, while only brushing the outermost layer of music theory , try to explain their similarities and differences clearly. Instead of tenor I could equally mention concert or soprano ukulele because all three use standard GCEA tuning. The baritone is usually strung DGBE (although GCEA string sets also exist for baritone), while the guitar has six strings and is tuned EADGBE. In the video I also explain and demonstrate how chord shapes played on tenor and baritone ukuleles relate to one another.
