Thank you for Instagramming
At the end of February I received an email from one of the organizers of Ki Mit Tube, who wrote, “I came across your videos on YouTube and I really like what you do,” and invited me to take part in this year's competition. After a few emails and phone calls we discussed the details, and in the second half of April I submitted my video... if only it had been that simple . Let us rewind to the point where “we discussed the details”: before agreeing to participate, I looked into the event and, to be honest, the decision was not entirely straightforward because I had the feeling the opportunity was aimed more at the younger generation. I thought about what kind of performance I could enter with and finally decided to take the plunge in the “prehistoric fossil” category . I hope that by taking part, and through my video, I can also promote learning music and playing the ukulele.
For my song I chose a very popular old Hungarian number for which I had already created a 21st-century version of the lyrics one or two years ago. I had played parts of it on a few courses and received positive feedback, so I thought it was time to show it to everyone.
I hope this year's Ki Mit Tube introduces us to many worthwhile videos and performers. And if you support my performance with your vote, I will be especially grateful .
What do you need to do to vote? Find my video on the Ki Mit Tube website. The easiest way is to search for my name—the video's thumbnail is black and white—and after registering you can cast your vote, provided of course that you have watched the video and liked it .
I have embedded the Shorts version of the video here; the full performance can be watched on the Ki Mit Tube website.
