On Sunday we held a fantastic, fully booked Course I! I took an enormous number of ukuleles with me because many participants had asked to borrow one for the duration of the course. In that sense I could even call the session historic: never before had so many of my ukuleles been sounding at the same time. Fortunately traffic was kind to me, I reached the venue very quickly, and I was lucky enough to find a nearby parking space. The first participants to arrive helped carry the instruments and other equipment upstairs and set up the room—thank you! We were therefore ready quickly and started the course at 9:04.

First we learned the basics: how to hold and tune the ukulele and how rhythm works. Then we played lots of chords and practised steady strumming and chord changes. Dear Participants, it was wonderful to see your enthusiasm and sustained attention. As I said during the course, it is no problem if something did not work the first time: with practice everyone can reach the goal they have set, whether that means learning a new chord or making chord changes smooth and fluent.

At the end of the course, thanks to D'Addario—one of the world's largest manufacturers of strings and accessories—we raffled off a few ukulele accessories. Huge thanks to D'Addario!

Thank you for helping with packing up and carrying everything downstairs at the very end of the course !!!

We will meet again in a few days at Course II, and then at Course III .

I took a few photos; enjoy them:
