Spring Course II in 2023
This morning ten of us set off to explore the mysteries of rhythm and chord learning in Course II. During the morning we focused mainly on rhythms and rhythm techniques, gave the strings no mercy while learning the “chuck”, and from time to time tied our fingers—or perhaps our brains—in knots by leaving out an eighth note . The morning had a very good atmosphere, and I hope the participants felt the same . In the afternoon we learned new chords and became acquainted with barre shapes. During the day we put together three or four songs—or applied our newly learned rhythm patterns to them—and also tried to recognize chords and songs, so there was not a single idle moment.
As always, I would like to tell my Students that what we discussed, played and practised during today's course was a lot and quite intensive, but all of it will give you material to build on over the coming months. Just practise patiently, regularly—and of course as much as you can.
At the end of the course, thanks to D'Addario—one of the world's largest manufacturers of strings and accessories—we raffled off a few ukulele accessories. Huge thanks to D'Addario!
