Report on Course III in December 2022
A few days before the course, a kind ukulele player called Balázs phoned and offered to help with carrying the ukuleles and other equipment needed for the course. So on the morning of the course we met, jumped into the car and headed for Irányi Street. Within a minute or two Ricsi arrived—he even found me a parking space, thanks —and Szilárd joined us too, so our all-male ukulele carrying team had everything upstairs in no time.
The other participants soon arrived, we tuned up, and at 9:00 we began the course. We worked on barre chords and the musical and logical relationships between them, giving everyone's brains a good workout. We also covered some slightly more complicated chords and took a first look into the world of scales. After lunch we got down to playing: we spent a lot of time on the blues, and at one point I even picked up a bass guitar to accompany our excellent ad-hoc ukulele band. Finally, we also found a little time for fingerstyle playing.
At the very end of the course we held another D'Addario raffle. Once again, huge thanks to D'Addario for allowing me to raffle their useful accessories among the course participants.
To my great delight, I continue to receive emails asking about new course dates. I am planning the next courses for March 2023. If you would like to receive an email notification of the exact dates, please click here and send me a message. Thank you.
Finally, here are a few photos from the course. I took some of them myself, and thanks to Erika for the photos she took.
