Chords 09: F minor
F minor is a classic example of a chord that looks difficult but really is not . At least when we first look at a hand fretting F minor, it may seem as though the ukulele player's hand has cramped up. In reality we are simply seeing a slightly rotated wrist and fingers carefully placed at the following points:

In numbers, F minor is written 1013: fret the fourth and second strings at the first fret and the first string at the third fret, leaving the third string open. The important thing with this chord is to allow the wrist to rotate slightly; once we do that, the hand falls into the F-minor shape much more naturally. The “bunny ears” we learned with G major go onto the fourth and second strings, while the C note is fretted with the little finger on the first string, almost as though we were making C major.
