Report on Course I in November 2022
On this cold morning I loaded a million ukuleles and all the other necessary gear into the car, and because I set off a little late, I put my foot down so I could reach the course venue on time—and find a parking space. Some of you arrived at exactly the same time; thank you for helping carry everything upstairs. We began the preparations in a good mood, rearranged the room a little, unfolded the music stands, and participants kept arriving. A few minutes after 9:00 we started the course.
As usual on Course I, we learned the basics, played lots of chords, and practised steady strumming and chord changes. It was good to see your enthusiasm, although at times I had to encourage you when something did not go the way you wanted. I said it then and would like to reinforce it now: there is absolutely nothing wrong if something does not work immediately. The aim of Course I is to give you the initial push and a great deal of information so that after the course you can set off more easily on the wonderful journey of learning the ukulele.
At the end of the course, thanks to D'Addario—one of the world's largest manufacturers of strings and accessories—we raffled off a few ukulele accessories. Huge thanks to D'Addario!
Thank you for helping with packing up and carrying everything downstairs at the very end of the course !!!
We will meet again in a few days at Course II, and then at Course III .
I took a few photos; enjoy them (I do not know what was wrong with my phone, but it distorted the pictures a little):
