Lanikai CDST-CET Tenor

Recently the gremlins of technology played a trick on me (all right, I simply was not paying attention), because I accidentally embedded a ukulele-review video in the Hull a Pelyhes Fehér Hó blog post. So some of you may already have seen the introduction to this beautiful Lanikai ukulele. Of course I quickly fixed the mistake and restored the correct Hull a Pelyhes video. The review video now belongs here, in this post, where we tested the Lanikai CDST-CET: a tenor-size electro-acoustic ukulele with a solid cedar top.

What appealed to me about this ukulele is that it has an elegant, classic appearance without looking boring. In my view, it is an instrument made with excellent taste and a carefully considered choice of woods.

The shape and size are the same as Lanikai's other higher-end electro-acoustic tenor ukuleles. So in terms of its body shape, this instrument is related to the previously tested Lanikai OAK and Lanikai QM-BLCETukuleles, and the electronics are the same as well. In other words, the manufacturer changes the woods and their combinations, together with the finish — gloss, satin or matte — and creates one beautiful ukulele after another. There is no enormous difference in sound between these instruments. Naturally, an instrument with a solid-wood top differs in volume and tone from one made from laminated wood, but I think the main differences are really visual. I was completely satisfied with the solid-cedar-top ukulele tested here. I also helped a friend choose it and was happy to assist with the purchase. I am delighted that he became the happy owner of such a beautiful instrument.

Naturally, this instrument was also available from the Ukulele.hu webshop.

If you are planning to give a ukulele as a gift, I would like to remind you not to leave the purchase until the last minute, so that the chosen instrument is certain to arrive before the holidays.

The webshop also included a short guide to help with choosing a ukulele, and I was happy to help personally by email or Facebook direct message as well .
