Ukulele Blues

I have not disappeared; I simply have an enormous number of other things to do, so I have very little free time left for the ukulele and the blog. I found a fantastic video and decided I simply had to share it with you.

The video features an insanely good improvisation on what looks like a tenor ukulele and a bass ukulele (a baritone-ukulele body + special polyurethane strings tuned like a bass guitar). The piece does have a pre-written section, but there is a great deal of improvisation. It takes a little more patience and attention to appreciate than a simple pop song built from two or three chords: what you hear is sophisticated, inventive jazz. Here it is:
