Report on Course III in autumn 2023
We held the autumn Course III on a notable date: World Music Day. I set off excitedly and could hardly wait to meet my ukulele students, make music together, and also immerse ourselves a little in some questions of music theory .
As on the previous Course III, nine of us began playing in a friendly, close-knit atmosphere a few minutes after 9:00. The morning focused mainly on music theory: we explored scales and the musical and logical relationships between chords. We brightened up the theoretical sections by learning song excerpts and chord progressions, continued in the same way during the afternoon, and finally played some blues and sampled a fingerstyle arrangement . Hats off to every participant: you handled the entire day with admirable persistence and attention—even right in the middle of the theory-heavy parts .
At the very end of the course we held another D'Addario raffle. Once again, huge thanks to D'Addario for allowing me to raffle their useful accessories among the course participants .
To my great delight, I continue to receive emails asking about new course dates. Most likely there will be no further series this year; the next courses will be right at the beginning of next year. If you would like to receive an email notification of the exact dates, please click here and send me a message. Thank you.
Finally, here are a few photos and a video from the course. I took some of the photos myself, and thanks to Erika (also for the video) and Ágoston for the rest .
