Mennyből az angyal - Hungarian Christmas Carol

Share E-mail Facebook Viber WhatsApp LinkedIn

Here is a lovely and popular Hungarian Christmas carol. If you learn it on the ukulele and play it at Christmas, you are guaranteed to create a magical atmosphere. For now, here is the song itself - this is how it can sound (or much better than this):

The proper background would be a snowy garden, but if I had waited to record the video then, you might not have had enough time left to practise before Christmas . Click here if you would like to learn this song on the ukulele!

Here are the lyrics. I think everyone in Hungary knows them (there are more verses, but these are the two we usually sing):

An angel came down from heaven to you,
shepherds, shepherds!
So that, hurrying on to Bethlehem,
you may see him, you may see him.

The Son of God, who has been born
in a manger, in a manger,
He shall truly be your Saviour,
truly, truly.

Do not forget: this is already our third Christmas song, so there will be plenty to learn by December this year!

Kiskarácsony, nagykarácsony

Silent Night
