I would like to show you one of Lanikai's best ukuleles. Of course, tastes differ and appearance also matters a great deal, but if we look at the most important characteristics of a ukulele, this Lanikai certainly belongs among the truly excellent instruments. “MA” refers to mahogany, “S” means solid wood, and “CET” indicates an electro-acoustic tenor. Of all these features, solid mahogany is perhaps the most important, because it is one of the best—if not the best—materials from which ukuleles are made. This is the main reason the instrument is considered premium, and its price reflects that. Lanikai's solid-mahogany family actually has four members: they also make an electro-acoustic concert model, plus non-electro-acoustic tenor and concert versions. I was fortunate enough totry the latter.

At one point I had my eye on this Lanikai myself because I wanted an all-solid-mahogany ukulele. I was pleased when one of my course participants decided to choose this model, and I was happy to help with the purchase. A MAS-CET therefore stayed with me for a few days, and I made a demonstration video about it. Needless to say, I could not find a weak point in the ukulele from any perspective. It comes from the factory with the usual two strap buttons and a hard case. Enjoy the following video:
