Ukulele Meetup II
After the June ukulele meetup, many of you wrote to ask when the next one would be. Some because you had not been able to attend, and several because you told us how much you had enjoyed yourselves and were already looking forward to the next one. Well, we now have the date of the next ukulele meetup : September 4, 2019, 4:30–7:30 p.m. Venue: Pódium Hall (top floor of the Alexandra bookshop at Nyugati tér).
If you would like to attend the meetup, please make sure you register at workshop@ukulele.hu! Please tell us whether you will bring a ukulele and roughly what level you play at, so that we can plan the group performance(s) accordingly.
The venue may already be familiar: our workshop last November was also held in Pódium Hall:
So we warmly welcome every ukulele player to Ukulele Meetup II — and, as always, also anyone who has never held a ukulele before but likes the instrument and would like to get to know it. The aim of the meetup is for every participant to leave with a musical experience. We would again like to show you a few new ideas and little tricks, and teach them in a way that is interesting for beginners too, while once again counting on the enthusiastic participation and help of more advanced players. And from those who are especially adventurous, I am hoping for some extra activity, just as at the June meetup: some people sang on stage, others came up to play ukulele.
We are planning the meetup along similar lines to the one at the beginning of the summer: gathering from 4:30 p.m., with the workshop section starting at around 5:15 and lasting roughly 1–1.5 hours. I will have the material from the June ukulele meetup with me, so we may play one or two songs from that as well, but I will also prepare some new material . If anyone plays another instrument in addition to the ukulele, feel free to surprise us with it — last time we even had a saxophone after the workshop. In other words, once the workshop is over, the floor is open to everyone, and you can even step up to the microphone (provided, of course, that your performance has something to do with the ukulele ).
THE EVENT IS FREE!
EVERYONE IS VERY WELCOME!
