About a year or a year and a half ago, I began to feel that it was time to rebuild ukulele.hu on new foundations. The previous website had served Hungaria ukulele players since 2015, and so much had happened over the following six years that its structure was beginning to struggle under the growing amount of information. When I added the webshop in the autumn of the previous year, ukulele.hu finally became too crowded. It was beautiful, it worked well, and I loved the design — for which I would once again like to thank Sanyi, one of our enthusiastic fellow ukulele players. Here is one final screen recording of the old website:

For the past three months, in the free time I did not really have — quite literally working day and night — I have been designing and programming the structure of the new website (my idea of taking a break was making Knockin' On Heaven's Doorwith all of you ). I hope I have managed to create a genuinely modern, easy-to-navigate website and that you will like it. In the design I aimed for a simple, clean look. I kept a few colours and motifs from the old site, but I also had to create a lot of new graphics. Take a look, for example, through the “Chords” section — I think the images in the middle and lower sections look much better now than before. When planning the structure, my aim was to make the site easy to understand and to help you find the information you are interested in as simply and quickly as possible.

I also changed the way blog posts are displayed and introduced tags, so you can click them to find related reading as well.

Please feel free to explore the new website, and I would be very grateful if you shared your thoughts — both if you like it and if you think something could still be improved (I am sure there will be things). My thanks go to two enthusiastic ukulele-playing testers, Orsi and András, who clicked through the entire site with me. Still, more eyes see more, so you may notice some odd behaviour that escaped us. Dear Readers, if you encounter anything that does not work as it should, I would therefore be grateful if you helped me by clicking the “Contact” menu item and letting me know.

Thank you in advance for taking a look around the new website and, if you have a moment, sending even a short message with your opinion.

I hope the new website will serve us well for many more years!
