Summer Ukulele Meetup 2020
Dear (Future) Ukulele Players!
In my previous blog post I wrote that we were planning a ukulele meetup for August. Fortunately, everything was coordinated quickly, and thanks to Ethnosound's efficient help, on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, we will be able to get together for some group strumming at Fonó Budai Zeneház. There is barely a week to go, and I hope news of the meetup reaches as many people as possible. So please spread the word about next Tuesday's event and invite family and friends, so that as many of us as possible can get together and make music .
The greeting at the beginning of the post is deliberate: complete beginners are very welcome too — people who have never held a ukulele but like the instrument and would like to get to know it. The aim of the meetup is for every participant to leave with a musical experience. We would like to learn a few songs together in a way that is interesting for beginners as well (we are preparing some really good songs ). As always, we also hope for the enthusiastic participation and help of more advanced players. And from the adventurous participants, we are looking forward to the same extra activity we have seen at previous meetups.
We are planning a schedule similar to the previous events: from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. we will gather, tune up and get settled. After that we will get down to playing and keep strumming until 8 p.m.(or until our fingers go numb). You do not have to arrive at the very beginning; you can join us at any time.
You can also indicate that you are interested on this Facebook event , but if you would like to attend, please make sure youregister by clicking here! Please come ONLY if you are completely healthy.
If anyone happens to take professional-quality photos at the event and sends them to us, we would be very grateful .
Many thanks toFonó Budai Zeneházfor providing the venue, and to Ethnosound for their help with the organization.
THE EVENT IS FREE — EVERYONE IS VERY WELCOME!
