KALA, the Colourful Little One

For a few weeks I tested a fun soprano ukulele made by Kala with an unusual colour scheme. It comes from the series that recently appeared in a few photographs on the blog's Facebook page. Obviously, whether you like a uke painted this way is a matter of taste. I personally prefer the traditional natural wood look.Kala also makes conventional-looking ukuleles rather than only colourful ones.

During the test period I played the instrument a lot and tried to pay attention to how well the finish stood up to strumming. It seemed to be coated with good-quality paint. At the same time, I find it almost impossible to believe that after years of regular use the finish would not wear slightly. Of course, by then we can simply call it patina .

Even so, if you take care of it and do not scrape the body with long fingernails, the instrument should remain attractive for a long time.

I was completely satisfied with the strings and the tuning system. The gear ratio is good and the tuners are perfectly suitable for fine adjustment.

Anyone who likes this style is unlikely to be disappointed by the instrument, although the extra colour finish does mean reaching a little deeper into your pocket.
