Házasodik a tücsök — accompaniment tutorial
Recently we learned the melody of the song beginning “Hol jártál, báránykám?”. This time I would like to show you the accompaniment to “Házasodik a tücsök”. It is a lovely folk song from western Hungary, and I am sure very many people — probably everyone — know it.
We need three chords for this song: A minor, G major and C major:

I recently attended a Ringató sessionwhere my ukulele joined a violin and a guitar, and together we formed a fantastic trio while playing and singing this lovely folk song. That was where I learned the song's chords and experimented with how the ukulele could complement the much louder guitar that was filling out the accompaniment. I realised that my role could be that of the traditional folk viola. What exactly does that mean? You will find out in the video below:
