End-of-Summer Ukulele Course — Report
On the second-to-last day of August — yesterday — I met fifteen very enthusiastic beginner ukulele players at a lovely venue in central Budapest. I arrived together with a kind fellow ukulele player, who was a great help carrying things and setting up the room, so many thanks to her once again . Soon more and more people arrived and joined in with arranging the room. Then, even before the 10 a.m. start, everyone helped everyone else tune their ukuleles, so we were able to begin with instruments sounding clean and in tune. After introducing ourselves, I entertained you with rhythm games — and you entertained one another too. It was genuinely enjoyable to see and hear how brilliantly everyone handled the echo game. Lunchtime arrived surprisingly quickly, and in the afternoon we moved on to the basic chords and put together several songs nicely .
I think one of the most exciting tasks was the chord duel, where everyone played their chords flawlessly . Dear Course Participants — and everyone else too — I warmly recommend the program we used for the chord duel: www.chordtime.com
And a message here for my dear students: practice regularly and patiently, use a metronome, and make use of the materials you received during the course .
If you are interested in future courses, please let me know! Thank you!
