Downloads

Ever since ukulele.hu launched, I have had one outstanding item on my to-do list: the DOWNLOADSmenu item. By now this subpage is complete both technically and in terms of content. Naturally the content will not remain static: from time to time we will add new songs and chords. Existing lyrics and chords will be updated when necessary, and soon we will once again publish blog posts devoted to learning specific songs.

In the DOWNLOADS menu, songs are sorted by performer by default, but clicking the small arrows in the table header lets you display the list in other orders, and naturally you can search for any word. The search looks through the songwriter/performer name, title and lyrics. Clicking the songwriter/performer or title in any row opens the lyrics together with the chords.

The list also contains a third column labelled “blog”. This indicates whether we have covered the particular song in a blog post. If you click the pointing-hand icon there, you do not open the chord-and-lyrics page, but the relevant blog post itself.

I hunted down most of the songs online, because the internet is an almost inexhaustible source of lyrics and chords. However, you should never assume that the first Google result is correct. I often found partially or completely wrong chords embedded in a lyric sheet; in those cases I either checked another result or worked out the chords myself by ear from the recording. I have reviewed the great majority of the chords uploaded to ukulele.hu and I play these songs from the same versions myself, so I hope there are as few mistakes as possible. For a few songs no chords could be found online at all, so I transcribed them from the recordings and added them to the lyrics. You will therefore certainly find songs here whose chord versions exist only on ukulele.hu — until someone does a successful copy-and-paste job and uploads them to their own site .

I hope you find this small collection useful. We will keep expanding it. If any song on the list catches your interest, let me know if you would like a tutorial video about it. Happy browsing and happy learning!
