We have already learned four chords. I hope you have managed to memorise how to fretC major,A minor, F majorand G major . These are excellent basic chords with which to begin learning because they appear in songs constantly. There are very few songs in which at least one of the four does not occur. If you are still uncertain about any of them, click the relevant chord in the first sentence to read its separate post and watch the corresponding video. As a reminder, here are the four chords:

In the previous videos we dealt with one chord at a time. Now we put them together into a continuous sequence: we play them one after another at a set tempo, creating a chord progression. When playing chord progressions, the most important thing is for the changes to become invisible. In other words, when we move from C major to, say, G major – or to any other chord – we must not stop and start searching around with our fingers. We need to rotate the hand and place the fingers in the correct position immediately. I will not over-explain it; playing and demonstrating the exercise is simpler and clearer. Keep practising patiently and persistently!
